Ancient Traditions in Yangon Myanmar

Greetings from Yangon Myanmar!

Lance and Michelle are currently on a recon trip in Myanmar. They are planning for a future EarthCruiser trip through some of their favorite parts of Asia. Self drive overland travel in Asia is getting easier, making it perfect for the EarthCruiser way of life.

Ancient traditions are lived every day.

Transportation

From early to late models, the Fuso Canter is a popular chassis option for bus and truck transportation.  Roads aren’t very wide and lane markings are a guide, not a rule. That’s why small and manageable is best.  Which is just right for the EarthCruiser size, making Yangon a good starting point for a Myanmar EarthCruiser adventure.

Private and public buses compete for customers.

Below is a great fixer upper here, with the lifting of sanctions the city is restoring some of these great buildings of times gone by.

Kipling Moments

Also, it’s not hard to have a Kipling moment when walking down the Strand and an indulgent high tea is a must at the venerable Strand Hotel refurbished to its former glory with all the mod cons.
