Owner’s Story: Tara & Tom Sweeney

We recently caught up with Tara Sweeney to hear about her family’s life on the trail after picking up their new EXP Dual Cab they’ve named Artemis in March 2023. Hi Tara! Tell us a little about your lovely family. We’re a little family of 3 – two engineers (Tom and Tara) and an awesome 3-year-old (Valkyrie). Well, I guess we’re a family of 4 now if you count our EXP (Artemis). We’ve been living in San Diego for nearly 15 years and we both grew up spending a ton of time outside, so we love the year-round pleasant weather

A Day Of Service: Supporting Local Wildlife with NPO, Think Wild

It was a cold, rainy September day in Central Oregon as members of EarthCruiser migrated to Think Wild’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. So, when the call came in asking for extra hands to help with constructing new facilities the decision to get involved was a no-brainer. Afterall, what’s an overland adventure if there’s now wildlife to observe?

How-to: Convert Outdoors-Averse Family Members to Overlanding

We hear it all the time. A couple comes in to look at one of our vehicles, and one pulls us aside to gently let us know that their other half is what we call “outdoors-averse.” You might be ready to roll into the sunset, but your partner, or kids, might not be convinced. Prior to this, and likely well into the future, the other “overlanding” vans you see have been constructed on unibody platforms. While unibody platforms have suited many lives well, the payload limitations and other factors have been a roadblock in creating a vehicle that’s able
