Our Journey Continues….Updated Suspension

Our Journey continues on our blog today with how we updated the suspension on our Fuso Chassis for The Rainforest Challenge. Not every chassis needs to be brand new to build an EarthCruiser. For our demo truck we will be using an older model chassis and replacing the suspension. As a result to changing the suspension you will have more capability to travel in remote locations. Check out the video below for more details! RFC Video 3 – Updated Suspension

Behind the Scenes Featuring EarthCruiser’s Rear Winch Carrier

Today on the blog we have posted a video featuring our new EarthCruiser Rear Winch Carrier. The RWC (Rear Winch Carrier) was designed to help independent travelers over challenging terrain feel more self-reliance. We have built the carrier with the highest quality components, like  5/16″ steel construction, secure mounting and accommodations for two 7/8″ shackles. The RWC was designed for ease of fitment for our customers with any existing EarthCruiser vehicle. For more information the EarthCruiser Rear Winch Carrier or to add it on an existing vehicle please contact us at sales@earthcruiser.com .

Catching Rays

We are always pushing ourselves to be ahead of the curve and produce the best product we can. Recently we paired up with Oregon State students Corbin Moser, Nicholas Evano, and Ryan McMahon to find ways to get the maximum efficiency out of our solar panels. They looked at the effects of cooling the panels as well as angling the panels to account for the position of the sun, and came up with some helpful results. You can read about their project here.

EC-GZL

Now that the cat’s out of the bag, let’s take a look at the newest addition to the family. The EarthCruiser GZL is a little camper that slides onto the back of your Tacoma or Nissan. Much different from the EarthCruisers you know and love, but at the same time very familiar. The design reflects the comfort and thoughtfulness of the full sized campers, but is considerably more compact. The pop up top offers more space when you reach your destination. The base GZL comes with a pop up roof, seating for four, an internal shower and toilet, and much

Mongol Rally

The Mongol Rally. An overland expedition across a third of the world, all in an effort to raise money to save it. A great idea, but we have to complain about the restrictions around what vehicles you can use. Just because EarthCruisers break all the rules of the Rally, doesn’t mean they can’t still have the adventure of a lifetime. We have looked at the popular routes to pick the ideal trip from London to Mongolia. Based off what teams in the Rally call the “Central Route”, this route is a bit safer than the “Southern Route” and gives you

How warm is the EarthCruiser in cold conditions?

EarthCruiser utilizes a Webasto Dual Top evo diesel system to provide both hot water and hot air for room (space) heating within the camper during cold weather. The Dual Top evo is an integrated air and water heating system that provides cabin heating and hot water in all seasons. Full climatic heating is user controlled by the adjustable thermostat on the command panel. The Webasto units are fed from the main fuel tank, so you need to keep fuel in the main tank if you need to use the heater, water heater or cooktop.  The Dual Top can operate while the vehicle
