Traveling the Mojave Road in the EXD

Most Americans have heard of the Mojave desert. A barren wasteland in Southern California full of rocks and reptiles that should be avoided by all travelers. If this is what you envision, than your really need to read this post to see what you are missing. In late January I had 3 days to trek from Arizona to Southern California in the EXD for the start of the Baja XL Rally. I was burnt out from 9 continuous days standing on pavement at the Barrett-Jackson Auction, and in desperate need for some  therapy in nature. Looking for as direct of

Just How Similar is an EarthCruiser to a Tacoma

Prepare to be Impressed! When you think of a purpose built expedition truck that offers 14 feet of interior living space, you probably wouldn’t use the word “nimble” to describe it. I mean 14 feet, almost 100 sq. ft., is a lot of space in a vehicle. An average Sprinter van conversion only gives you 83 sq. ft. of space, and in an EarthCruiser you have a good size indoor shower, dinette table for 4, full kitchen, and queen size bed you don’t have to crawl up into. So how can we call this a purpose built off-road truck? It

The New 2020 EarthCruiser EXP and FX

Our flagship expedition trucks are in for one major overhaul This year we are releasing an entirely new, more capable, reliable and purpose built EXP and FX expedition vehicles. The most notable change is that they will be powered by an ever reliable, fuel efficient v8 gasoline engine. Everyone here is excited to see the transition to a gasoline fueled powerplant from our preferred chassis manufacturer, Fuso. This platform will, at last, give us the flexibility needed to adjust drivetrain parameters, and create a platform that can be standardized across multiple truck lines (including dual cab models). Our new platform

Experience The Difference of the EXD Camper

If you’ve been following our blog and social media pages, you’ve well seen the release of our newest EarthCruiser vehicle, the EXD camper. A few blogs back we compared 1 ton trucks to popular conversion vans. Like we said in the blog, we love the van life concept, and the EXD is how EarthCruiser would do vanlife! Since the release of the EXD we’ve been getting a lot of questions regarding what makes it such an amazing machine. Most recently Truck Camper Adventure (TCA) asked to interview Lance about what makes it different. Below is some of the dialog… TCA:

First Glimpse of MOD and EXD

We are super excited to share photos of the first MOD and EXD products to our EarthCruiser audience. It took a huge effort from the crew, and it will all pay off once these beautiful vehicles get on the road. If you are looking for unique, there is nothing constructed quite like these campers. They are lightweight but rugged, simple but highly innovative, and just look damn good on any truck it’s mounted to. We’ll be putting up dedicated webpages soon, but check out the gallery below for pictures of the builds.

EXD vs. the 4×4 Van

Feature by feature, EXD features more features. As mentioned before, we are not hating on #vanlife. In fact, any person looking to travel by any means are friends of ours because WE LOVE TRAVELING! Celebrating 10 Years of Adventure

The month of April marks EarthCruisers 10th year anniversary, and we have some really big plans ahead. But first a little bit recognition of our history. The company was originally founded on April 1, 2008 by Lance Gillies. Growing up in Australia, Lance had an extensive background in off-road driving and building 4×4 vehicles. EarthCruiser was originally designed to meet his specific needs for an overland expedition vehicle that could go anywhere and was comfortable enough for two people to live for extended periods of time. After extensive research and development, the EarthCruiser design was born. The initial successful testing
