Thankful for EarthCruiser Owners: Owner Stories with Glenn & Jeanne Capachin

Our “Thankful for ___” theme has so far covered EarthCruiser Pets, Veterans, and now we’d like to take a moment and express our thankfulness to EarthCruiser owners: far and wide; past, present, and future. You are what makes this crazy adventure worth it. For this month’s EarthCruiser Owner profile we caught up Glenn Capachin, a highly active EarthCruiser owner that’s always off on some trip of another. He’s quick to offer his help, and valuable advice, to fellow EarthCruiser owners, having put his own rig through a lot of paces and bringing a lifetime of experience with big rigs, car

Thankful for our Veterans

For the second entry in our “We’re Thankful for ____” series, we recognize our veterans and say, on behalf of the entire EarthCruiser crew, thank you for your service. We are grateful for your sacrifices. Did you know that 20% of our crew at EarthCruiser are veterans?  The skills and experiences that Veterans gained in their years of service and bring to EarthCruiser provide invaluable strengths to our business that we all benefit from. Whether it’s rigorous discipline, methodical production, pivoting and adapting quickly, ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team, or a bias for action and problem-solving

Thankful for EarthCruiser Adventure Pets

The world can feel quite dizzying right now, which is why it’s more important than ever to step away and take a break, even if only for a short while. Isn’t this one of the reasons we love to get outside and get lost? It helps us get beyond ourselves and provides perspective shifts and grounding moments. At EarthCruiser we believe in giving thanks for those things in our lives, big and small, that bring us joy and keep us moving forward, together. We’ve decided to honor Thanksgiving all month long. No, not turkey dinner but taking time to say

Owner Stories: Maile & Kent Krumpschmidt’s Mobile Clinical Lab & Ski Chalet in One

It is such a treat to catch up with EarthCruiser owners and hear their story. Last time we heard from EarthCruiser FX owners #59, this time we get a glimpse into the compelling lifestyle of Maile and Kent Krumpschmidt on the road. Let’s just say, we’re all a little jealous of how they’ve outfitted their EarthCruiser into a mobile clinical lab and the ultimate live/work/play set-up. Read below how they got into overlanding and found their way to EarthCruiser, plus helpful tips if you’re seriously considering full-or-part time overlanding as a way of life. Hi Maile. EarthCruiser Team Tips: Favorite GPS Apps

As one would expect, the EarthCruiser team is full of adventurers and that means having the right tools to navigate on and off-road. We’re often asked for advice on our favorite hacks and gear so turned to the crew to share “Favorite GPS Apps” to help stay on course. These navigation apps are in regular rotation for Chad Knight, EarthCruiser’s general manager, who can often be found slinging through mud in his outfitted Nissan Xterra and chasing trails in the car, and on foot.   I like Gaia because of the many different map layers available for offline download.  Their

Testing Out the New Garmin Overlander GPS Tablet

This spring Garmin released a new gps tablet aimed at the Overlander market at Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, AZ. Although the first release to the public isn’t planned until August 8th, they sent a few out for people to test. We were lucky enough to be among the few who got this chance, although we only received it on July 19th. Having limited opportunities to test the unit, I decided to use it during a trip to the Rocky Mountain Overland Rally in Gunnison, CO. Traveling primarily on paved highway, and only camping remotely one night, I cannot say
